Library cards are FREE to New Hanover County residents and property owners, students and teachers in any school in New Hanover County, and active military personnel stationed in New Hanover County. To sign up for a public library card, you’ll need: Be 18 years or older, Proof of New Hanover County mailing address (e.g., rental agreement, utility bill, bank statement, or phone bill), A valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, UNCW One Card, or another ID). Also, students and staff of NHCPS have access via the CLASS Project using their students' school identification numbers (lunch numbers) or school staff UID numbers instead of separate library cards.
