World War II: Through the Eyes of the Cape Fear is a joint project between the University of North Carolina Wilmington's William M. Randall Library and the Cape Fear Museum. The website's creation was funded by the North Carolina ECHO (Exploring Cultural Heritage Online) grant, awarded by the Library Development Section of the State Library of North Carolina.

Chronicling America (ISSN 2475-2703) provides access to information about historic newspapers and select digitized newspaper pages, and is produced by the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). NDNP, a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Library of Congress (LC), is a long-term effort to develop an Internet-based, searchable database of U.S. newspapers with descriptive information and select digitization of historic pages. Dates of relevance are January 1, 1940 – December 31, 1947.
