Teaching Information & Media Literacy in K-12

This guide offers lesson plans, activities, further reading, and other resources for teachers in K-12 classrooms incorporating information and media literacy skills in their classrooms.

Further Reading

Note: these resources link to items held at Randall Library or through our subscriptions. Those not affiliated with UNCW can visit in person to get access to books and use our databases, but borrowing and remote access privileges are not available to the public.

However, check with your county public library to get access to materials! In New Hanover County, all teachers (and students) have access to public library resources with their staff ID number through CLASS Project (and you can also register for your own public library card to increase the number of materials you can check out). Check with your local public library, as many of these materials will be available through them!

We have also linked to some materials that are available through NC LIVE. You can visit nclive.org and choose your public library to search for and access those materials there.
