  • Choose the appropriate contribution type* from the dropdown menu, then complete the rest of the fields. Once the data refreshes overnight, your new intellectual contribution will appear in your Scholars@UNCW profile.**

Author Names

It is important for correct reporting and connectivity between Scholars@UNCW profiles that you use the "People at University of North Carolina Wilmington" field when listing UNCW faculty authors in a Scholarship/Research record. To do so, begin typing the individual's last name in the "People at University of North Carolina Wilmington" field, and scroll through the results to find their name. Click the name, and do not edit the first or last name fields after that point. NOTE: If using an import tool to add scholarly contributions to Watermark, you will need to edit the record to ensure that the People at University of North Carolina Wilmington field is used to credit other UNCW faculty.

For authors who are not UNCW faculty, manually enter their information in the provided fields.

  • Scholars@UNCW integrations with scientific knowledge graphs like Web of Science rely on DOI's. Please make sure to include a persistent identifier - usually a DOI - whenever entering scholarly works into Watermark.
  • If you do NOT want a publication to appear in your Scholars@UNCW profile, toggle the button in the "Allow Sharing" column from "yes" to "no."

*If you have a question about why your contribution is being classified in a certain way, please feel free to reach out to our Open Knowledge & Research Impact Librarian using links to the left for troubleshooting.

**For publications to display in Scholars@UNCW, they must have a published date. Forthcoming publications and research in progress will not display.
