Fair Use/Fair Dealing Week is an annual celebration of the fair use and fair dealing doctrines in international copyright law and their support of the public good. In the United States, 17 U.S. Code § 107 provides that "use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright."
This year at UNCW, we're celebrating our new partnership with Authors Alliance through a webinar on artificial intelligence and fair use. Check back here as Fair Use Week approaches (2/24-2/28) for updated information.
