AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE BIO-MEDICAL LABORATORY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT WILMINGTON. SB 556, Ratified 7/19/1971
This bill transferred the Wrightsville Marine Bio-Medical Laboratory to UNCW and appropriated funding to operate laboratory facilities in conjunction with the Marine Sciences program. At this time, UNCW looked toward developing a Marine Sciences master's degree program.
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR CERTAIN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AT STATE INSTITUTIONS AND AGENCIES. SB 904, Ratified 7/21/1971
This act provided funds to construct UNCW’s first “Marine Sciences and Oceanology” building.
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR MARINE SCIENCES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT WILMINGTON AND AT ELIZABETH CITY STATE UNIVERSITY. SB 1145, Ratified 5/12/1993
The act provides funding to build programs in Marine Sciences research and education at UNCW and Elizabeth City State University.
